New mama, happy wife, designer wannabe, deal obsessed, and food lover.
When I think about my perfect day, it would involve baking, eating, and shopping (for things on sale or at secondhand stores). Just the thought of eating a delicious meal accompanied by a glass of good red wine makes me happy inside. My love of baking began and grew in school when I would want to try out a new recipe and then bring the results to my friends to help me eat it (I learned this after a few too many times eating half the pan of brownies). I didn't really begin to enjoy cooking until I met my husband. He comes from a family of food people. Every meal is an all day, or nearly all day, affair. He is an excellent cook, and rarely follows a recipe. I have learned from him and gotten more creative in my cooking. He is now the one who's impressed with what's for dinner. Maybe that's because he would never think of putting kale and potatoes together and topping it with a fried egg (delicious, by the way).
Ok, one thing I forgot to mention about my dream day was design. I don't know if I just like watching other people design things, or if I enjoy doing it myself. If I had an unlimited budget and spaces to design, I think I would love it more. For now, I just watch design shows and dream of what my future home will look like. Currently we rent a 70's era condo, and well, it needs a lot of help. Help that my DIY projects just may not be able to provide. I can't wait to own my own place again!
When it comes to finding good deals, you could say I'm obsessed. I think I inherited this trait. I can't just go to a store and buy something. And in the rare occasion that I do, I usually regret it because after a few minutes online, I find I could've bought something better and cheaper somewhere else. This is good and bad - I'll look for hours or even days to find one Christmas present. On the other hand, I've saved lots of money and found really unique stuff!
We had our first child, Otto Constantino, on July 10, 2012. I never realized how much you could love someone you've never met until he was born.
